Located 20 miles southeast of Richmond, and surrounded by Prince George, Chesterfield, and Dinwiddie Counties, Fort Lee is the Tri-Cities' U.S. Army Post.
Fort Lee is the headquarters for the U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM), the U.S. Army Quartermaster Center and School (QMCS), the Army Logistics Management College (ALMC), the U.S. Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), and the 49th Quartermaster Group (Petroleum and Water), a significant Forces Command (FORSCOM) unit. Fort Lee also hosts two Army museums, the U.S. Army Quartermaster Museum, and the U.S. Army Women's Museum.
Since the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Fort Lee has continued to expand and will experience growth for many years. Under BRAC, CASCOM, the Ordnance Center and School (OC&S), QMCS, the Transportation Center and School (TC&S), and the new Logistics University (currently the ALMC), forming the Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCoE), to be completed in 2009.
